Major Appliance Shopping: How to Choose a Fridge
Posted by in S&W Appliances
Going major appliance shopping can be a little overwhelming when you aren’t sure what to look for. When it comes to shopping for a new fridge, this kind of anxiety and fear can apply. But, it’s really not that tough if you know what to look for.
Firstly, you need to measure the space that you are going to install your fridge. Be sure to include height, width and depth, and be aware that you’ll need enough space to open the door! Then, you have to decide what kind of fridge you want. A top-mount is the most common kind, with the freezer on top of the regular refrigerator. A bottom-mount has the freezer below and a side by side set up has it, you guessed it, side by side. These are probably the least common but can work for certain types of rooms.
You should also consider the capacity based on how big your family is. If it’s you solo, you don’t need to splurge on a giant fridge, but if you have a few kids who likes to eat all kinds of different things, consider one with more cubic feet.
Don’t fear the major appliance shopping adventure. You’ll be sure to love your new fridge if you are prepared.
